Carrie Carpenter, Ethical Literacy® Co-chair
St. George’s Independent School–Germantown, Tennessee campus

Phil Hatton, Principal,
Orrville High School, Orrville, Ohio
Phil Hatton is completing his 27th year in education and his 3rd year as principal of Orrville High School in Orrville, Ohio. Prior to arriving at Orrville, Phil was the principal at Woodridge High School in Peninsula, Ohio. His administrative experience also includes a stint as assistant principal at Woodridge and athletic director at Revere High School. Click here for full bio >>
Todd Horn, Head of School
Kent Denver School, Englewood, Colorado
Todd is in his 13th year as Head of School at Kent Denver School, a coed day school of 660 students serving grades 6 through 12 in Colorado. Previously he was Head of The Orme School in Arizona and he has served as a teacher and administrator at The Colorado Springs School and Hawken School in Ohio. He also serves as President of the Association of Colorado Independent Schools (ACIS) and teaches business economics to high school seniors and previously taught medical ethics. Paula Mirk, Director of Education
Institute for Global Ethics, Rockland, Maine
Paula Mirk brings a professional background in Education, and almost fifteen years experience at the Institute, to talks, workshops and long term coaching for schools and school systems. Her expertise in facilitation and discovery approaches means that every event—from a one hour talk to a multi-day training session—is highly interactive and a meaningful experience for participants. Jill Reilly, Ethical Literacy® Co-chair
St. George’s Independent School–Collierville, Tennessee campus
Jill is a 1986 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, served almost five years in the Regular Army and cared for her two children for many years before joining the teaching profession. William Taylor, President
St. George’s Independent School, Memphis, Germantown & Collierville, Tennessee
William Taylor has served as a school administrator since 1990, and has served in his present role as President of St. George’s Independent School, since 2006. Taylor has taught history and other courses in social studies since 1988, as well as served as an athletic coach for a variety of sports including, basketball, soccer, and tennis. Iona Whishaw, Principal
David Thompson Secondary School, Vancouver, British Columbia
Prior to January of this year Iona was the Principal of Sir Charles Tupper Secondary, where she helped to establish the ROARS code of conduct as a central element of the school’s identity. Before becoming an administrator, Iona taught English and Spanish, and prior to that had a twenty year career in social services as a youth worker, social worker and an alternate school youth counselor. She has an MFA in writing, has publications in poetry and children’s writing, and was recently nominated by the staff at Tupper as a YWCA Woman of Distinction. Click here for full bio >>
